The Asian Development Bank approved a $225 million loan - its largest health-sector investment in Mongolia - to expand specialist and emergency care outside the capital. The relevant mix reaches well beyond clinical work: hospital planning, biomedical procurement, civil engineering, safeguards, health information systems, emergency preparedness and workforce development could all matter. UN-Habitat establishes a Southern Africa base in Tshwane
South Africa and UN-Habitat inaugurated a new country office in Tshwane. The office will provide a dedicated platform for technical cooperation in South Africa and support wider engagement across the Southern African Development Community. Its stated areas include adequate housing, informal-settlement upgrading, spatial transformation, climate adaptation, urban resilience, urban data and local-government capacity.
The opening gives candidates a new location to watch, but UN-Habitat published no headcount, hiring plan or new programme budget. Because the technical assistance will strengthen an Iraqi bank's trade-finance capabilities, professionals with Iraqi banking, cross-border finance, compliance and risk experience may be relevant if delivery opportunities are advertised.
Bangkok opens a narrow, practical early-career route
The UNICEF Thailand Young Professionals Programme in communication is a 4-6 month, part-time internship in Bangkok, requiring 15-20 hours a week. The work covers digital content, public campaigns, volunteer engagement and knowledge management.
